A very ripe yet still reasonably fresh nose speaks of mocha, anise, violet and mostly dark pinot fruit. There is fine energy to the rich and lilting medium weight flavors that possess an appealing mid palate texture that offers a marked contrast to the firm, noticeably austere and compact finale. This will definitely need a few years to unwind and add depth.
